About

Why Ajja Sonic Exists

Every Ajja Sonic tool started as a fix for something that slowed me down in my own studio or on stage. Interlock came from hours spent slicing audio into rhythmic mosaics by hand. Pattern303 came from programming a TD-3-MO one step at a time, mostly blind.

The idea is always the same: let the tool handle the mechanical side, so you can focus on what actually matters — the music.

The Developer

My name is Ajja. I started making music when I was nine and was a working musician by twelve. By fourteen I was recording my own rock, blues, and funk compositions on a four-track tape — playing every instrument myself and programming the drums. I've been using digital audio software since before you could record audio into a laptop, and that obsession with the technical side of music has never left me.

The coding started just as early. My first programs were written in BASIC in the early 90s — around the same time I was learning to POKE infinite lives into Jet Set Willy before the tape finished loading. I've been entirely self-taught ever since, building plugins, apps, and tools to solve whatever problem was in front of me at the time.

As a musician, I've spent more than 20 years as a psytrance artist, performing at major festivals around the world. That experience — thousands of hours in the studio and on stage — is what shapes the tools I build. They're designed by someone who actually uses them, every day, in real projects.

Recently I realized that these tools could help other people too. Interlock and Pattern303 are the first of many planned plugins and apps from Ajja Sonic.

Ajja Sonic

I chose the name Ajja Sonic to differentiate the software side from my musical work, while keeping a link of familiarity for the people who already know my music. It's the same creative mind behind both — just a different output.

Ajja Sonic is based in Switzerland. Every plugin is designed and coded by me, and tested with the help of a group of professional artists and producers from around the world.
